Africa Fashion Reception

AFR 2017
In partnership with the African Union and UNESCO, Legendary Gold Limited presents the 4th edition of the Africa Fashion Reception. The AFR once again will be presenting Africa’s best and most creative designers, producers of shoes, bags, jewelries, make up, beauty & hair products to the global market. To be eligible to participate, these products must be locally sourced and produced in Africa. Most importantly, they must be produced with global best practice.
The African Union will host the African edition in its headquarters in Addis Ababa. This is usually the first AFR event of the year. The global edition comes up in Paris.

DRESS CODE
The dress code for all AFR events is glamorously African. And the day it will be held anywhere around the world will be declared ‘Dress African Day’ in that city. Awards will be given to the best dressed attendees at every AFR event.


PARTICIPATION
EXCLUSIVE COLLECTION SHOWCASE (COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVES)
The Executive Board of the Africa Fashion Reception invites entries from interested designers from all over the African continent and the Diaspora. Only one designer will be nominated to represent each African country. Selected designers will be contacted as soon as the decisions are reached by the Executive Board. Designers will be expected to present African inspired ready to wear garments with global appeal.

EXHIBITION
Each participating country will be provided with an exhibition space where it can promote its garment, fashion accessories, lifestyle products and tourism potentials. Please note that it is compulsory for every designer representing each country to exhibit. The exhibition will provide a unique platform to promote the sales of products produced by each participating country.
